Charity Of The Year

Lloyds Banking Group's charity partner for 2013 and 2014 is Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland.

Working together with the charities we have raised £2million for the Live Well Campaign to fund the first UK wide dementia carers programme. The programme gives 9,000 carers the information and skills they need to help their loved one to live well with dementia.

By 2020 over 1 million people in the UK will have dementia. Alzheimer's Society is the UK’s leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Together with our partner charity, Alzheimer Scotland, we are leading the fight against dementia.

In selecting the Charity of the Year, our colleagues recognise the importance of supporting a UK wide dementia carers programme. With one in three people over the age of 65 developing dementia, supporting family members that care for loved ones is vitally important.

Doing our bit to help

What brings our Charity of the Year commitments to life is the brilliant support our colleagues provide. Across the Group people get involved in a wide range of fund raising and support activities for the Charity inside and outside our business. Throughout 2013 and 2014 our colleagues will be undertaking all sorts of activities to help reach our fundraising target for the Live Well Campaign.

The Group offers matched funding for the money colleagues raise, and time to dedicate to community volunteering, but it is the passion and energy of our colleagues that delivers the difference for our Charity partners.
