Halifax and Bank of Scotland archives
The historical records of Halifax and Bank of Scotland are held by Group Archives in Edinburgh. The records also cover constituent companies, such as Clerical Medical, Birmingham Midshires, Leeds Permanent, British Linen Bank and Union Bank of Scotland. Lloyds TSB archives
The Lloyds TSB Archive in London, charts the development of Lloyds Bank from its beginnings in 1765 to the Lloyds TSB Group in 1995. The archive includes records of Lloyds' many constituents including army agents Cox & Co. Capital & Counties Bank, and the Bank of London and South America.
The TSB archive traces the development of the early savings banks from their local philanthropic roots of the early 1800s through to the group's flotation on the Stock Exchange in 1986, and beyond.
We also hold the archive of Hill Samuel Group and its predecessors, and the building societies of Cheltenham & Gloucester.
