Corporate Responsibility

We are committed to our stakeholders, particularly our people, customers and the communities in which we do business.

Both Lloyds TSB Group plc and HBOS plc have been widely regarded as corporate responsibility leaders: for example through Platinum rating in the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index; and by inclusion in the FTSE4Good and Dow Jones Sustainability indices. Lloyds Banking Group's retail brands appeared in best buy tables over 4,000 times during 2008.

Lloyds Banking Group will be one of the biggest UK corporate investors in the community. That investment will include areas such as the Lloyds TSB Foundations, the HBOS Foundation, sponsorship and financial inclusion.

The Group’s corporate responsibility focus will continue supporting delivery of the business strategy, including responsible lending and support for customers facing difficulties, widening financial inclusion, and delivering substantial community participation.

Together Lloyds TSB Group plc and HBOS plc are the biggest providers of social bank accounts. In total the combined group has around 4 million social bank accounts - over 50% of UK market share.

We will also seek to reduce our environmental impacts. As members of the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index both Lloyds TSB Group plc and HBOS plc have a strong reputation for managing their impacts on climate change. We are also signatories to the Equator Principles.

We will continue to develop our reputation: as an employer of choice; for deepening customer relationships; innovating in products and markets; supporting local communities and minimising our corporate responsibility risks.
