We are now accepting applications

It's a great time to join us, as we work to become the best bank for customers and to build an exciting future for our people.

Through our brands, our Group has a relationship with just about every household and community in the UK. We underpin the lives of millions of individuals and businesses, and play a key role in helping to create a thriving UK economy.

Ours is a diverse culture with a scale that creates a vast range of roles and opportunities, far wider than banking, with a wealth of options for continual personal growth in an organisation that reflects 21st century Britain in the diversity of talent, skills and thinking of our team. We have a flexible culture with an open and agile working environment that encourages people to build the career that they want, whatever their ambitions.

Do you have a strong quantitative focus and want to gain experience across a wide range of projects and stakeholders?

For the first time, Lloyds Banking Group is offering an exciting opportunity for talented quantitative post-graduates (PhD or equivalent) to join the Group’s PhD Programme.

Entry Requirements

To apply you must have completed, or submitting, a PhD (or equivalent) in a highly quantitative subject such as mathematics, physics, statistic, engineering and chemistry. Knowledge in stochastic calculus, machine learning, statistics and experience in a programming language would be a plus. You should have a dynamic attitude, be a fast learner who can quickly become autonomous, take projects forward and have the ability to easily switch from one project to another as priorities often change swiftly.

You will apply your quantitative, mathematical and programming skills to build models and apply them to support our business, in a highly dynamic environment. Your ability to communicate and engage with others will allow you to have continuous interaction with quantitative teams across the group, as well as business stakeholders and support functions, such as trading, risk, finance, project management and IT.

The Programme

By joining the PhD programme, you will be allocated to a given team and will benefit from a training programme, which includes on-the-job secondments across the teams.

The Teams

There are a number of opportunities across different teams within the Group.
