Top of the league in the new FTSE Carbon

Strategy Index

Carbon

Lloyds Banking Group has come top out of all the UK banks and been ranked 16th out of 350 FTSE companies in a new FTSE Index launched in June.

The FTSE CDP Carbon Strategy 350 Index ranks companies in the FTSE All Share Index according to their carbon risk exposure and carbon management performance. Unilever, BT Group and Morrison Supermarkets took the top spots overall.

ENDS Carbon, a leading provider of carbon performance benchmarking and ratings, surveyed all FTSE All Share Index companies to establish a rating for their carbon performance. We achieved between 70% and 100% in 5 out of the 6 key performance measures, and scored particularly well in measures of setting policy and targets to manage our carbon impact, measuring our carbon emissions, incorporating carbon impacts on our decision making, and being transparent about our performance.

The new Index will help investors identify companies that are effectively managing their carbon impact.
