A great time was had by all at the third Bank of Scotland International Bra Dash through the streets of St Helier on 30th May. Despite a slightly later than planned start, the event was a running success with a total of more than £8,000 raised for charity After Breast Cancer Support.
More than £4,000 was raised from sponsorship and the street collection which is to be matched £ for £ by the HBOS Foundation. After Breast Cancer Support will use this money to help promote awareness of breast cancer issue and provide patients and their families with hope, support, and friendship during treatment.
Prizes on the day were won by HSBC for best fundraiser, New Business' Graeme Douglas for best bra and Ashburton for best team. All the prize winners kindly requested that their prizes were donated to the charity. Jess Stevenson collected the prize for the best dressed child.
James Gairdner, managing director, Bank of Scotland International, said:
"For the third year running the people of Jersey turned out to support what is our most unusual fund raiser and we were delighted with their generosity. We'd like to thank everyone who helped to organise and took part in the dash as well as our sponsors.'
Ends.
