Helping businesses to grow sustainably

Turning ideas into reality.

We want to do more to help businesses of all sizes across the UK to prosper and grow.

We have set targets to help businesses start-up and grow in our Helping Britain Prosper Plan.

We met our target to help UK manufacturing businesses by delivering £1bn of financial support to the sector in 2017.

Opportunity knocks

One of the businesses we’ve helped is Barnsley-based Distinction Doors Ltd, which produces around 200 doors a day, offering over 1,000 different product lines, and has an annual turnover of £42 million.

Thanks to funding from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, Distinction Doors launched an innovative new product with technical advances that speeds up production, saving the business and customers time and money.

The funding has helped triple the company’s manufacturing capacity and led to an additional six jobs being created within production.

Distinction Doors now employs a total of 117 people at its Barnsley site, operating 24 hours a day, five days a week. To date, over three million of their doors have been installed across the UK.

Distinction Doors manufacture around 7,500 doors a week, which then go on to reach a large number of households in the UK. We are supportive of the UK manufacturing sector and, we are pleased we have been able to help Distinction Doors to grow in a sustainable way

Our commitment

Supporting businesses across the UK, to start up, grow and trade internationally are key commitments in our Helping Britain Prosper Plan.

The Helping Britain Prosper Plan was launched in 2014 and unites our Group and our colleagues to meet targets to address core socio-economic issues facing the UK.

We believe we can use our scale and reach to help people, businesses and communities to prosper, because we know that when Britain prospers, we can too.
