36% rise in million pound home sales

The number of million pound property sales has risen by more than a third over the past year, according to research by Bank of Scotland. There were 72 million-pound property sales in Scotland in the first six months of 2010; 36% higher than in the same period last year (53 sales) and outstripping the 20% increase in total house sales over the same period. There are an estimated 3,5001 homes in Scotland that are worth at least one million pounds.
