Lloyds TSB England Regional PMIs
12 December 2011
The Lloyds TSB Regional Purchasing Managers’ Index® (PMI®) data published today points to only marginal private sector output growth across the English regions during November, and shows that the pace of expansion slipped to its weakest in three months. A number of regions saw virtually stagnant levels of business activity in November. The North East was the worst performing region, while Yorkshire & Humber rose to the top of the growth table. The general economic slowdown was sharper in London than in other regions. During the third quarter of 2011 it slipped from its top spot to stagnation in the fourth quarter.
