Britons sleepwalking into the red as household costs and bills spiral

Despite the cost of running a home increasing in the past year for 70 per cent of Britons, the majority of people are still unaware of just how much prices have risen and have failed to take action to fix their bills.

Britons are ‘sleepwalking’ into the red, automatically paying rising bills and facing a significantly reduced disposal income as a result, new research for Halifax Home Insurance has revealed today.

Nearly 60 per cent of respondents said that they have seen their monthly disposable income drop over the past year, leading Halifax Home Insurance experts to warn that millions of Britons are sleepwalking into financial trouble.
