A loan from Lloyds Bank enabled Karen to purchase an established business in Lowestoft, along with commercial premises set over two stories.
Local Business Development Manager, James Burraway, took Karen through the application process and provided financial and business advice to support Karen on her first steps on her journey to becoming a business owner.
Karen is now running the salon, with the help of an employee of the business who has been working there for 15 years. Karen is already looking to expand her business. She has increased the opening hours of the salon, from four days to five, and intends to increase that to six days in the near future.
There are also plans in the pipeline to refurbish the currently empty floor above her salon. Karen is considering renting the space to freelance beauty therapists, turning her salon onto a one-stop-shop for hair and beauty services.
Karen said, "I’ve banked with Lloyds for a good few years now and they have been the security behind me when I've needed it. So for my next journey as a business owner, here I am again, with the confidence and support that they have given me to enable me to buy my own business."
