What Will You Do as a Data Scientist?

  • Project Delivery: You’ll be involved in all project stages, from idea conception to production. You'll partner with business customers to explore problem statements, analyse data assets, experiment with various modeling approaches, and develop systems powered by Machine Learning.

  • Python Modeling: You and your team will build experimental models using Python. These models will have a tangible impact on the lives of over 30 million customers across the entire UK.

  • Research and Development: Collaborate across the Group to actively research and find opportunities for value realisation understanding the range and types of third-party products available.

  • Mentoring and Coaching: As a mentor and coach, you’ll guide a team of Data Scientists and Engineers, encouraging their growth and development.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Experience: Proven track record as a Data Scientist in a similar role. Experience implementing and supporting Machine Learning systems including automation, model training, validation and monitoring.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong theoretical and applied knowledge of machine learning techniques especially in Natural Language, Generative AI and unstructured data.

  • Leadership: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a passion for crafting a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication and ability to present and connect with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Industry Awareness: Awareness of the latest industry technical developments, emerging trends, new technologies, and best practices for Natural Language and AI.

  • You’ll need to be a self-starter with a passion for developing Data Science solutions that tackle challenging business problems and transform our ability to digitise our business with new technologies.
