Our Engineering Persona Journeys team, part of the Productivity Services Lab within the Engineering Platform, are focusing on the experience of all our engineers, resolving issues and optimising services to provide an industry leading experience for our engineers to develop in.

Our team is focused on making the process, access, software and hardware available to our engineers at the right time, easily and efficiently. We’re going to source, so we can understand what that really looks like on a day to day basis, understanding perceptions, resolving issue and empowering our colleagues through intuitive, reliable and engaging experiences.

Quite simply we want you to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet our business needs, while also contributing to the growth and development of our engineering team. But it's more than just that, we want you to be passionate about improving the lives of our engineers constantly looking for ways we can bring improvements, tenaciously pursuing these to conclusion.

What you''ll do:

  • Technical Leadership: Leading the design and implementation of solutions, ensuring they are scalable, robust, and maintainable

  • Code Quality: We want you to be hands on writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Reviewing and debugging code written by other team members to ensure high-quality standards

  • Collaboration: Working closely with others to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment with our goals, sometimes this may require you to be an advocate, tenaciously pushing ideas forward

  • Mentorship: Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers

What you’ll need:

  • Extensive experience of at least one high-level programming language, preferably both front end (JavaScript) and back end (Python) language.

  • Experience with GCP (preferred), Azure, or AWS.

  • Hands-on architecture experience.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Someone with a passion for technology and how it can be adopted and used for our colleagues and customers! A genuine curiosity about emerging tech and it's application would be beneficial.

  • You'll work in a highly collaborative way, working with other specialists and engineers from LBG, suppliers, partner resources and 3rd parties.

  • You're adaptable, able to use & learn new skills & knowledge in varying circumstances and are comfortable providing recommendations and thought leadership using your own judgment.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual performance-related bonus

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
