JOB TITLE: Managing Director, Head of Consumer
LOCATION: London
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, in the office.

We're looking for a high-energy, detail orientated, motivated and organised individual with a strong appetite and curiosity to lead the Consumer team, managing colleagues based across various regional hubs, develop their sector and product knowledge, actively prospect and follow up existing and new business opportunities and strive for a successful career within the team and CSG. As a senior member of the Corporate Sector Coverage and S&CA leadership team, the role plays a key part in shaping and executing the business strategy.

Corporate Sector Coverage is the largest and most diverse of the 3 Sectors within Client Solutions Group where we have responsibility for the overall management of relationships for corporate clients whose turnover exceeds £100m. CSC encompasses 5 industries: Consumer, Healthcare, TMT & Leisure, Manufacturing & Industrials, Infrastructure & Transport & Energy, Commodities & Utilities. CSC will play a significant role in the UKs transition to net zero through energy transition and industrial decarbonisation, thereby creating a positive environmental and social impact on the wider economy. We have a highly international client set which remains a focal point for LBG’s return to European lending as well as driving significant growth in the USA.

Your role and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop a team of relationship banking colleagues through clear objectives, coaching, and embedding LBG Group Values.
  • Shape and direct local strategic vision by analysing market trends and identifying tactical opportunities for client growth.
  • Deliver P&L and balance sheet targets by managing financial plans and budgets aligned with Group strategy and customer insight.
  • Oversee customer portfolios to ensure needs are met effectively while satisfying credit and profitability requirements.
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholders to enhance customer value and influence developments beneficial to the Division and Group.
  • Provide oversight and support for client proposals, credit terms, and pricing to ensure robust, customer-focused solutions.

  • Strong credit knowledge and risk awareness to guide decision-making, define sector appetite, and balance goals with focused risk management.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams through coaching, motivation, and performance management.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining client relationships, anticipating future needs, and delivering value through strategic engagement.
  • Deep understanding of sector trends, client activities, and market dynamics to drive growth and support strategic coverage.
  • Solid grasp of market, operational, and regulatory risks, ensuring compliance and effective risk mitigation.
  • Focused on achieving excellence, managing time effectively, and overcoming challenges to deliver consistent result.
