Foundations

In 2016, we donated £18.5m to the Group’s independent Foundations, covering England & Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. Our contribution enables them to make grants to local, regional and national charities – most of which focus on supporting disadvtanged people during key transisitions in their lives. Foundation grants are increasingly used to help charities become more efficient and more effective fundraisers in their own right. In addition, our colleagues offer Foundations and the charities they support access to essential business skills. In 2016, more than 190 colleagues, many of them in senior management roles, supported charities as mentors through the Foundations Enhance programme.
