Job description

JOB TITLE: OKYC Operations Analyst – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract or Secondment

SALARY:  £33,203

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Birmingham or Manchester

HOURS: Fixed Term Contract or Secondment – Full-time, 35 hours

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in the office.

Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

What you’ll be doing:

An opportunity has arisen in our AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Due Diligence team, providing technical expertise to help assess potential and actual risk across Business & Commercial Banking portfolios. Your work will support Group-wide policy requirements and minimum standards, helping us manage risk effectively and protect our customers and the business.

You’ll carry out ongoing due diligence for Business & Commercial Banking, clearly explaining requirements and providing support to both internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll also build strong working relationships across Business & Commercial Banking, acting as a key liaison point and collaborating closely with AML partners to ensure queries and requirements are managed effectively.

In this role you’ll:

  • Use your procedural, product and specialist knowledge to provide technical support and expertise to clients

  • Take ownership of queries and issues, working through to a resolution

  • Apply logical thinking and problem-solving skills, when working under pressure

  • Manage expectations and build positive relationships with both internal and external clients

  • Prioritise your workload effectively

  • Work to strict deadlines and agreed service standards.

Why join us?

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What we’re looking for?

  • Minimum of 2 years strong technical knowledge of Anti-Bribery, AML and Sanctions, with the ability to apply this in a client-focused environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to explain technical information clearly

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients

  • A collaborative team player who can work well with others and contribute positively to business goals.

And any experience of these would be great:

  • Good technical knowledge of other financial crime areas, in addition to Anti-Bribery, AML and Sanctions.

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. We recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.

This is a place for you:

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • An annual performance-related bonus

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 24 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
