Could this be one of the most exciting Chief of Staff opportunities in UK financial services today?

Over the last few years, IP&I has undergone significant transformation. We’ve simplified the business with the sale of non-core entities, transformed service, launched Lloyds Wealth and launched a new Scottish Widows brand all while doubling earnings!

The next leg of the strategy is set to be just as thrilling, and we’ve got the ambition to double earnings

again in just the next few years – we’ll be focussed on creating a lifetime wealth proposition for customers and truly unlocking the bancassurance potential – it’s truly a purpose led business helping the UK prepare for a brighter tomorrow while protecting today.

You'll work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape the strategic agenda, drive business performance and accelerate delivery of the organisation's most important priorities. Acting as a trusted extension of the CEO, you'll help focus attention on the opportunities, risks and decisions that matter most, while maintaining oversight of key transformation programmes and ensuring delivery remains on track.

You'll play a central role in enhancing the effectiveness of the Executive Committee and broader leadership team, leading key governance activities and supporting Board, regulatory and executive engagement. You'll also develop compelling narratives, briefings and communications that clearly articulate business performance, strategic progress and future ambition to colleagues, senior executives and external stakeholders.

Why join us?

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone, make change happen and challenge the status quo. Sound like you?

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive experience in financial services, consulting or a similar fast-paced environment, with a track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives and producing Board-level outputs.

  • Exceptional judgement, problem-solving ability and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong organisational discipline, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

  • The ability to cut through complexity, distil key issues and drive clear actions and decisions.

  • Someone who is comfortable operating at pace, adapting quickly as priorities evolve.

  • A strategic thinker with a bias for action and delivery.

This is a place for you:

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities, and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer Initiative.

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.

We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.
