About this Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Investment Specialist to join our Insurance, Pensions and Investments (IP&I) business in a senior role.
IP&I supports over 10 million customers across investments, retirement and insurance. Through Scottish Widows, one of the UK’s most trusted providers, we focus on delivering strong customer outcomes, high‑quality investment solutions and engaging digital experiences.
In this role, you'll support the development and oversight of our investment propositions, with a focus on Master Trust and IGC arrangements. You'll provide governance, investment oversight and trustee engagement to ensure solutions remain appropriate and aligned to customer needs.

Working closely with teams including investment proposition, asset allocation, portfolio management, risk and governance, you'll help ensure solutions are designed and managed in line with regulatory expectations and deliver good member outcomes. You'll also contribute to the development of our investment propositions, including sustainability and responsible investment.
We're looking for someone with strong experience in DC investment oversight within trust‑based and/or contract‑based environments. You'll act as a key link between investment development and governance forums, including the Master Trust and IGC, and represent the function with internal and external partners.
What you’ll be doing:
Act as the primary investment contact for Master Trust Trustees and IGC, building effective working relationships
Work with investment proposition and specialist teams to ensure Master Trust and IGC requirements are reflected in investment design and change activity
Prepare and present investment papers to Trustee Boards, IGC and Investment Committees
Provide insight on investment performance, market developments, risks and governance considerations
Oversee Master Trust investment arrangements, including default strategies and self select funds
Deliver investment reporting across performance, suitability, value for money and emerging risks
Provide challenge on investment proposals from a trustee and member perspective
Support the ongoing development of the investment proposition in line with market and regulatory change
What we’re looking for?
Experience in workplace DC pensions, including Master Trust or trust‑based investment governance
Understanding of contract‑based pension arrangements
Knowledge of default investment design, fund oversight and investment governance frameworks
Experience presenting to Trustee Boards or Investment Committees on investment matters
Knowledge of relevant TPR, DWP and FCA regulation
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret investment data and assess risk
Clear written and verbal communication skills in a governance or Trustee-facing environment
