About this opportunity

Join our Trading Book Product Control team and help deliver accurate financial reporting and effective financial control in a fast-changing environment.

You’ll support the team’s daily operations, with a focus on profit and loss reporting, month-end delivery and resolving financial control issues. You’ll work alongside supportive colleagues who share knowledge, learn from one another and look for practical ways to improve how the team operates.

What you’ll be doing

  • Review and prepare daily profit and loss reporting, reconciliations and sign-offs, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Support month-end close activities, helping to report and independently validate the Group’s balance sheet accurately and on time.
  • Apply and maintain a robust financial control framework across the team’s processes.
  • Investigate financial information and respond to ad hoc requests from partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls and simplify processes.
  • Build productive relationships with partners and support the development of junior colleagues.

Why join us?

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified or part qualified accountant with a desire for further study.
  • At least 12 months gaining knowledge of Financial Instruments.
  • 12 months or more developing relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Numerate and competent with MS Office applications, with 12 months or more experience with Excel.

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Experience of working in Financial Control or Audit.
  • Experience of SQL and Macros.

This is a place for you

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion, supporting our customers, colleagues and communities. We are committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and launch a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative.

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. As a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role and have a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition, through the Disability Confident Scheme.

We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers - just let us know what you need.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance-related bonus
  • Share schemes, including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 28 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
