Key responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, evaluation and execution of real estate investment transactions across a range of acquisition and funding structures.
  • Undertake financial modelling and investment appraisal, including returns analysis, sensitivities, scenario testing and assessment of key underwriting assumptions.
  • Prepare high-quality Investment Committee papers, approval materials and supporting analysis, clearly summarising the investment rationale, financial returns, principal risks and recommendations.
  • Coordinate inputs from internal stakeholders and external advisers, including legal, technical, valuation and agency teams, to support effective due diligence and transaction delivery.
  • Conduct detailed site and location analysis, including demographics, local employment, housing demand, pricing, rents, affordability and comparable evidence.
  • Analyse comparable transactions and market evidence to inform pricing, valuation and investment recommendations.
  • Undertake market research and monitor relevant residential investment, economic and sector trends.
  • Support the development and maintenance of investment models, underwriting tools, transaction trackers and portfolio analysis.
  • Prepare clear, accurate and visually effective presentations for Investment Committee, senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Present analysis and recommendations confidently, responding effectively to questions and challenge.
  • Work collaboratively across the business and manage multiple workstreams to agreed deadlines.

Key experience and capabilities

  • Previous experience in a real estate investment, transaction, corporate finance, valuation or investment-advisory role.
  • Strong commercial acumen and an ability to identify the key financial, operational and execution considerations within an investment opportunity.
  • Strong financial-modelling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience preparing investment papers, presentations or other decision-making materials.
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills and the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, concise and persuasive presentation materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders across different functions and levels of seniority.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to demanding deadlines.
  • A collaborative, positive and proactive approach, with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • A genuine interest in residential real estate investment and the wider living sector.
  • CFA, CAIA, ACA or another relevant professional qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working style

The successful candidate will be analytical, commercially minded and highly organised. They will take ownership of their work, use initiative and work constructively with colleagues and external advisers to deliver high-quality investment analysis and transaction support.
