JOB TITLE: Senior Design Researcher (12-month FTC)

SALARY: £61,344 - £68,160

LOCATIONS: Manchester, Bristol and Cardiff

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

As a Senior Design Researcher, you will lead and deliver research for a specific domain in the Transport platform. You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary design and product teams to understand research needs and identify research opportunities.

You will shape and manage the research roadmap for your area. You will design and execute high-quality qualitative research and share actionable insights that will influence design and product decisions.

You’ll be encouraged to be proactive in how you approach research, with the freedom to experiment with new methods and explore different ways of working. It’s an environment where new ideas are welcomed and you’ll have the opportunity to shape how research is delivered within your area.

You’ll also be part of a large and supportive research and design community, with more than 80 Design Researchers and around 500 colleagues across Design. There’ll be plenty of opportunity to learn from others, share ideas and draw on expertise from across the wider design community.

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience working as a design/user researcher within multi‑disciplinary design or product team who can hit the ground running and operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Proven ability to work closely with design and product partners to shape direction through research
  • Deep qualitative research expertise across a range of methods
  • Experience delivering both strategic and tactical research studies from ground up
  • Ability to synthesise complex findings from different sources (qualitative and quantitative data) into clear, impactful insights
  • Confidence engaging, influencing and challenging stakeholders using evidence‑based insight
  • Innovative and resourceful in finding more effective and creative ways to conduct research and deliver insights
