JOB TITLE: Analyst – Financial Risk, BCB/CIB Credit Risk Modelling
SALARY: £36,224 - £38,130
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh or Leeds
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

Want to use data and statistical modelling to solve real business problems and influence decision-making across Risk?

About this opportunity

As an Analyst in Financial Risk, you’ll work as part of a team supporting all stages of model development and maintenance. From understanding regulations and translating them into analytical problem statements, to experimenting with different approaches and building appropriate solutions, you’ll use data and modelling to help inform decision-making across Risk.

Day to day, you will:

  • Play a key role in delivering sophisticated statistical modelling solutions to support decision-making across Risk.
  • Use tools such as SAS, Python and SQL to manipulate large datasets and build, validate and analyse the performance of predictive models.
  • Work accurately and with attention to detail, following established methodologies.
  • Use data to understand customer behaviour and credit performance, translating your analysis into a clear story that can influence business decisions.
  • Build relationships with business partners across the organisation to understand requirements and develop effective modelling and analytical solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of the Financial Risk  team by sharing knowledge, learning from others and participating in initiatives that build a positive team culture.

Why Lloyds Banking Group

We’re on an exciting journey and there couldn’t be a better time to join us. The investments we’re making in our people, data, and technology are leading to innovative projects, fresh possibilities, and countless new ways for our people to work, learn, and thrive.

What you’ll need:

  • A good degree in a numerate subject and confidence working with numbers.
  • Ability to use programming languages such as SAS, SQL or Python to manipulate data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work creatively with data to draw out insights and answer business questions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain findings clearly and influence business decisions.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills.
  • A proactive approach to your own development and a willingness to collaborate with others and contribute positively to the wider team.

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Practical experience of statistical credit-risk modelling techniques and methods.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • Exposure to building, validating or analysing predictive models.
  • An understanding of customer behaviour, credit performance or risk analytics.

About working for us

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

We’re disability confident. So if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
