SALARY: As per range

LOCATION: Bristol, Harbourside

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Risk Manager to join our Strategy, Investment & Business Management team and help shape the future of our Finance Platform!

You’ll support the management and continuous improvement of risks associated with technology systems and the delivery of change. Working across a complex technology and change landscape, you’ll collaborate with engineering, service management, change delivery and risk teams.

Your insight, oversight and constructive challenge will help ensure risks are understood, controlled and managed effectively.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the oversight, assessment and reporting of the Finance Platform’s Change Execution and IT Systems risk profile.
  • Partner with Engineering, Run and Change teams to identify and manage technology, resilience and change delivery risks.
  • Lead and facilitate risk assessments, control reviews and deep dives, monitoring control effectiveness, issues and emerging risk themes.
  • Provide clear insight, constructive challenge and guidance to support effective risk-based decision making.
  • Coordinate risk reduction plans and track actions through to effective outcomes.
  • Produce clear analysis and executive-level reporting for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Support Internal Audit, Risk Specialists and other assurance activity, finding opportunities to strengthen controls and risk management practices.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key business partners, using effective engagement, influence and constructive challenge to support positive business and risk outcomes.

Why join us?

If you think all banks are the same, you’re wrong. We’re a pioneering, fast-changing business that’s shaping finance as a force for good. If you’re after a role where you can have an impact and do the best work of your career, you’ve just found it.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in non-financial risk, operational risk, technology risk, IT controls, internal audit or a related governance role.
  • Demonstrated ability managing or overseeing risks associated with technology systems, operational resilience or the delivery of change.
  • Practical knowledge of risk management frameworks, control design and effectiveness, risk assessments, indicators, issues, events and governance processes.
  • Experience working with technology or engineering teams, translating technical information into clear business risks, impacts and recommended actions.
  • Evidence of influencing and constructively challenging senior partners, supported by strong analysis and reporting to help decision making.

And any of these would be great…

  • Experience of IT Systems Risk, Technology Resilience, Service Management, Operational Resilience or Technology Controls.
  • Knowledge of change governance and Change Execution risk management.
  • Understanding of application lifecycle, incident management, IT change, disaster recovery, cloud technologies or platform engineering environments.
  • Experience using risk management systems such as Risk Open Pages (ROP) or equivalent governance platforms.
