The Insurance division encompasses our Life, Pensions and Investments business and provides long-term savings, protection and investment products. Our products are offered through financial advisers and through our Retail division through the brands of Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Scottish Widows. 

The General Insurance business is a leading distributor of home insurance in the UK, with products sold through our branches, direct channels and corporate partners.

Protection and retirement planning are key components to customers feeling secure and to be prepared for later life, and to ensure families are well provided for.

Our Insurance team created the Centre for the Modern Family, a groundbreaking think tank, set up to examine and improve our understanding of the family in the 21st century. We know society is changing significantly and we aim to help opinion formers to understand how family life is changing so we can together create the conditions to help those in the UK prosper.

The Centre for the Modern Family published its most recent report ‘Families that Care’ in May 2013. This report highlights who are Britain’s carers, and what is the impact of care on the family.
