Lloyds Banking Group has appointed Amanda Murphy as Chief Executive Officer of Business & Commercial Banking (BCB), the Group’s business unit that serves all micro, small and medium sized businesses as they start up, grow and thrive.

The appointment, which is subject to regulatory approval, follows Elyn Corfield’s decision to leave the Group in 2026 to take a period of family time after nearly nine years with Lloyds Banking Group.

Amanda Murphy will join the Group in February 2026. She was most recently Co-Head of Commercial Banking Asia and Head of Commercial Banking for South & Southeast Asia at HSBC, based in Singapore. Prior to this, she held various senior positions throughout HSBC’s UK Commercial and Business Banking business between 2013 and 2021, holding the position of Head of Commercial Banking UK between 2017 and 2021.

Amanda has an outstanding record in UK commercial and business banking and I will be delighted to welcome her to the team. Further growing our small and medium-sized business offering for customers is at the heart of our Helping Britain Prosper strategy. Elyn Corfield has had an extraordinary career at both MBNA and ultimately at Lloyds after its acquisition in 2017. In her most recent role as CEO of our Business & Commercial Banking team, she has led the way in comprehensively transforming our business to better serve our small and medium-sized business clients. In addition to this, she has contributed passionately to some of the UK’s biggest business challenges in the areas of regional regeneration and diverse entrepreneurship, including through the Black in Business initiative and disabled founders work as part of the Government’s Lilac Review. I respect her decision to step away and want to thank her for her tremendous contribution.

Charlie Nunn Group Chief Executive Officer, Lloyds Banking Group

I’ve hugely enjoyed my time since joining Lloyds Banking Group upon the acquisition of MBNA with this week marking my 25th anniversary across both those iconic businesses. I want to thank Charlie Nunn for asking me to take on my current role and for supporting and championing both the business, me personally and the issues we care about. Supporting this segment of the UK business community has been a true honour, but the time has come for me to step away to take a period of family time. In Amanda, we have found an outstanding leader who will be joining a great team with exciting plans for the future. She’ll be brilliant and I wish her every success.
