JOB TITLE: Machine Learning & AI Engineer 

SALARY: £90,440-£117,040

LOCATION(S): Leeds

HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least

two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a strategic and technically minded Machine Learning & AI Engineer to join our Homes Platform AI Team.

As a Lead Machine Learning & AI Engineer, you will use your knowledge of key software development best practices, Python testing frameworks, CI/CD, and source control to develop end-to-end machine learning systems in Python. You will productionize machine learning pipelines that implement data science solutions to the bank’s data problems, ensuring they are scalable and efficient.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Day to day, you will:

  • Leading the team to help design and implement machine learning models and algorithms.

  • Develop and maintain scalable ML pipelines and infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with data scientists to understand model requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Optimize models for performance and accuracy.

  • Deploy and monitor ML models in production environments.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ML systems.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Passion for Machine Learning & AI, adopting the mindset of a curious engineer

  • A senior technical lead, who takes ownership of deliveries within a Feature Team and is willing to help grow and guide engineers to form successful teams.

  • Ability to understand complex business requirements and create business ready solutions

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, particularly the ability to convey business information arising from technical subject matter to non-technical people.

  • A change mindset, helping to improve and support policies, processes, standards and practices.

And any experience of these would be really useful 

  • Insights into industry solutions for data management, storage, and analytics

  • Experience of working within regulatory change would be advantageous, including Credit Risk, capital and impairment processes

  • Experience of line management.
