Job description

Job title: Integrator, Adviser Lab

Location: Edinburgh or Bristol

Salary: Pay Group 3E

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. There will also occasionally be a requirement to work outside business hours and on weekends for specific releases.

About this opportunity:

The purpose of the Integrator is to coordinate dependencies between the Lab and stakeholders external to the Lab such as other labs, platforms, Group Executive Functions and 3rd parties, this will include coordinating complex and high-risk implementations. The Integrator sits at Lab/Platform level and covers both business and technology change.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Uses in-depth technical expertise to develop the sequence for technical integration related tasks in collaboration with the PO / Engineering Leads.

  • Catalogues and manages technology dependencies between the lab and other teams which enable the successful release of features to our customers.

  • Coordinates the implementation events across shared infrastructure; leads on the SI process, coordinating parties to get the change over the line.

  • Works with colleagues outside of the lab to ensure interlock to enable the lab to deliver at pace, including how to consume infrastructure components provided by other platforms or (within Enabling Platforms) how to make the products delivered by the Labs consumable in a self-served manner.

  • Collaborates with Labs Leadership and Product Owners Team to plan and prioritise technical integration related tasks.

  • Identifies blockers to delivery by proactively monitoring, trouble shooting and diagnosing technical issues, raising to product owner(s) / lab leadership where required.

  • Acts as interface between the supplier (3rd Party) and key business partners supporting the management of delivery of underperformance.

  • Manages complex and high-risk implementations requiring integration between multiple parties (internal/external) to ensure delivery success.

  • Provides expertise for governance activity owned by the Product Owner.

  • Enable the delivery of technology risk and control improvements with pace.

What you’ll need:

  • A solid understanding of the regulatory, operational, and customer contexts within financial services, ideally gained through previous roles in the sector.

  • You should be confident in applying Agile methodologies across complex technical environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery cycles.

  • Able to anticipate challenges and take initiative to resolve issues swiftly, balancing technical difficulty with practical delivery needs.

  • You’ll be working with a wide range of colleagues, so the ability to build trust, influence outcomes, and communicate clearly—both verbally and in writing is essential.

  • Ability to manage relationships across internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring alignment and accountability throughout the integration lifecycle.

  • You’ll need to be able to work autonomously while simultaneously collaborating as part of a team to deliver collective outcomes — we want proactive people who take ownership and drive progress.

It would also be useful if you had...

  • Knowledge of containerised microservices architecture and public cloud platforms/infrastructure.

  • Understanding of the UK Pensions, Investment, and Protection Market, acquired through operational and change roles, ensuring delivered features meet industry standards.
