Job Title: Advanced Analytics Analyst

Location: Edinburgh or Dundee

Salary: £47,790 to £58,410

Hours: Full time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, at our above offices.

About This Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Analytics Analyst to join our Embark Data Engineering Lab. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining data pipelines within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and the Microsoft BI Stack, while performing statistical analysis on large datasets to deliver sustainable, high-impact analytics for the business.
You will work independently on engineering tasks and collaboratively on analytics projects, supporting a lean team model and ensuring compliance with SLAs and regulatory deadlines. This is a fantastic chance to combine technical expertise with analytical insight to drive data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the migration from Microsoft BI stack to GCP, contributing to pipeline design and maintenance (BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer).

  • Analyse data using established tools and adapt to new GCP environments.

  • Perform statistical analysis (regression, hypothesis testing, forecasting) to solve business problems and support regulatory reporting, especially Consumer Duty requirements.

  • Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders, translating for non-technical audiences.

  • Identify and resolve data quality issues, proactively reconciling discrepancies.

  • Maintain audit trails and ensure GDPR compliance in data governance.

  • Pursue GCP certification and Python upskilling; coach others as needed.

  • Deliver outcomes within strategic planning and risk management frameworks, meeting tight deadlines.

  • Contribute to team resilience and positive culture by flexing across analytics and engineering tasks.
