Job description

Job Title: Equity Investments Manager

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £65,385 to £72,650

Work Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing stakeholder relationships with a wide range of impacted parties including the equity business, internal and external auditors, regulatory & capital reporting, legal entity directors, company secretariat and other group functions as required;

  • Preparation and oversight of the monthly and quarterly reporting requirements for the equities business;

  • Preparation, review and audit co-ordination of c.12 sets of subsidiary statutory accounts;

  • Management of the operational requirements for supporting the equities business which includes management of the bank accounts and associated access management;

  • Assessing the accounting treatment for new transactions for both solo and group and recording these on the group ledger;

  • Taking ownership of the control environment for the end to end equities process  including assessment and documentation of the risks and controls;

  • Developing personal and direct report’s capabilities using existing formal and informal training opportunities;

  • Proactively identifying improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, with a focus on process redesign and automation.

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills: 

  • Proven experience in delivering change, preferably in a financial environment 

  • Strong technical accounting skills

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, to build and sustain long-term relationships. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills, using experience to address critical risks/issues/dependencies as they arise and ensuring resolution within agreed timescales. 

  • Demonstrate the right values and behaviours and encouraging this in team members.
