Location: Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Halifax & Leeds
Hours: Full-time
Working Pattern: Hybrid – spend at least two days per week (or 40% of your time) at the location above.

Job Description

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you'll join a collaborative, agile team that is product focused. You will design and develop features and improvements to our existing products and services. We provide BAU support as well as an on call rota.

· Write and review Infrastructure as Code ensuring it has been written securely

· Operationally support existing products including incidents and inbound customer requests

· Develop and test new features for existing products

· Manage work via Jira tickets

· Automate and utilise AI to drive efficient and cost-effective products for our customers

· Identify opportunities for improvements in our products and services

· Support planning activities and product roadmaps

· Grows own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities

· Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of learning and inclusion

· Be capable of standing in for the Lead Engineer

What you’ll need as a Senior DevOps Engineer:

· A subject matter expert in at least one of our products or technology types (eg. Firewalls). Be able to learn quickly on the job whilst building new skills and technological knowledge around other products

· Ensure that any code or solutions are built in line with our security standards and industry best practice

· Ability to listen, reflect and respect the views of others as well as being able to communicate your own opinion

· Understand the business area to facilitate the best solution design with team members and product owners

· Be environment aware, identify technical impediments / bottlenecks and work directly to resolve

· Experience with agile development methods & tooling e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Jira & Confluence, and experience of working as part of an agile team

· Experience of DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery

· Be passionate about automating everything

· Be industry aware and understand the importance of new technical approaches to evolve solutions and the experience of the team
