Why join us?

If you think all banks are the same, you’re wrong. We’re a pioneering, fast-changing business that’s shaping finance as a force for good. If you’re after a role where you can have an impact and do the best work of your career, you’ve just found it.

After finishing 2024 as the UK’s largest provider of individual annuities and a successful 2025, we're setting our sights even higher. A key pillar will be growing our ability to serve customers in the Enhanced Annuity market, where lifestyle and medical conditions can improve the rate we offer customers.

We’re looking for an experienced longevity actuary/specialist with relevant later life longevity experience to help take us to the next level.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Create and deliver a strategy to help us grow in Enhanced Annuities.

  • Develop and improve our understanding of the market within the Group and develop longevity assumptions and methodologies that allow us to benchmark our current proposition.

  • Help form a cross-department community to help deliver an enhanced annuity strategy and commercial focus (across diverse areas such as Product Management, Finance, Annuity Pricing, and Demographic assumptions).

  • Use your knowledge and experience of the enhanced annuity and longevity reinsurance market to share and implement best practice in the pursuit of marginal gains.

  • Cooperate closely with delivery (Platform) colleagues to ensure that any process and system changes required to support enhanced annuities are suitably planned and prioritised.

  • Be at the forefront of market developments, improving on latest trends and turning them into opportunities for growth.

  • Work with our reinsurance/underwriting partner to identify win-win opportunities through collaboration and ensure that our relationship is managed effectively.

What we’re looking for

  • Longevity experience in the Enhanced Annuity market, either from a provider or reinsurer, with experience of setting and monitoring assumptions.

  • Direct experience of longevity reinsurance and how it can best be applied to optimise our annuity proposition.

  • Familiarity with Product Management disciplines, such as the product design process, product governance.

  • Familiarity with P&L management of complex products, a keen commercial focus, and ability to make analytical trade-offs.

  • Qualified actuary (e.g. FIA/FFA).

  • Experience in demographic research, especially relating to longevity, mortality, or population health trends would be highly beneficial.

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. We recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.

This is a place for you
