Hybrid Working

Job description

JOB TITLE

Product Owner

SALARY

£61,344 – £68,169 pa

LOCATION(S)

Bristol

HOURS

Full time (35 hours per week)

WORKING PATTERN

Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll join the Consumer Servicing & Engagement (CS&E) Platform, within the Payments Lab.

As a Product Owner, you’ll play a handson role in shaping and delivering capabilities across payments and customer details management journeys, operating within a highly regulated, customercritical environment serving millions of digital customers.

You’ll be accountable for defining, prioritising and delivering value through your product backlog, ensuring solutions meet clear customer needs, align with business outcomes, and operate safely within regulatory and risk expectations.

Working closely with Engineers, Experience Designers, Customer Journey Managers, Platforms, Risk and Control partners, you’ll translate complex customer and business needs into clear, actionable backlog items that teams can confidently build and release.

This is a deliveryfocused role, balancing strategic intent with daytoday execution, and ensuring what we ship genuinely improves customer and business outcomes endtoend.

Why join us?

You’ll be working on products that support millions of customers and play a critical role in how people interact with their money. This role offers real influence over how new capabilities are shaped, tested and scaled within one of the UK’s largest digital banking platforms.

You’ll operate in an environment that values experimentation, learning and continuous improvement, while being part of a team that takes accountability, risk and customer trust seriously.

What we’re looking for

Essential experience and capabilities

  • 4–6 years’ experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar role within digital, payments or platform environments

  • Experience defining and owning product vision and roadmaps, balancing customer, partner and risk needs

  • Strong ability to translate customer problems into prioritised backlogs, user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Experience working closely with engineering teams, with sufficient technical understanding to assess feasibility and complexity

  • Proven experience delivering value using agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban), with hands-on use of tools such as Jira and Confluence

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, using data and insight to drive decisions

And any experience of these would be great

  • Experience working in Financial Services

  • Exposure to financial planning, cost control or dependency management within product delivery

  • Experience working with APIs, data-led products or regulated environments

  • Background collaborating across engineering, design, risk and compliance teams

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.

This is a place for you

Our ambition is to be a leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion, supporting our customers, colleagues and communities. We’re committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. As a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria through the Disability Confident Scheme.
