Lloyds Banking Group is the UK’s largest Digital, Retail and Commercial Bank with a focus on Helping Britain Prosper. Our Finance teams sit at the heart of the organisation.

The role sits within the Product Control team; a control function responsible to produce the daily/weekly P&L across the suite of Commercial Banking and Treasury products.

Product Control is an agile and encouraging team with a desire to foster all its peoples development goals, via learning opportunities, knowledge sharing and cross training! You're expected to work effectively as part of the wider team, helping even out workload, collaborating to solve problems and sharing knowledge. There are always new issues to investigate and resolve, starting every single day with a desire to learn and improve is critical for success in this role.

Day to day you’ll be involved in;

  • Preparation of P&L production, reconciliations, signoffs and issue resolution.
  • Supporting the month end close processes associated with accurately reporting and independently validating the bank’s balance sheet in a timely manner through the preparation of complex reconciliations leading to several journal postings.
  • Preparation of analysis and in-depth commentary on P&L and balance sheet movements.
  • Supporting a robust control framework for all processes within remit.
  • Undertaking ad hoc work and investigation arising from partner requests.
  • Supporting delivery of efficiencies and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Establishing and building relationships with partners.

What you’ll need

  • Qualified or part qualified accountant, or recently graduated from an accounting degree.
  • Knowledge of Financial Instruments.
  • Relationship building and Stakeholder management.
  • Numerate and competent with MS Office applications especially Excel.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Experience of working in Product/Financial Control or Audit.
  • Experience of SQL and Macros.
