LOCATION: Edinburgh
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40 percent of our time, at our Edinburgh office.
About this opportunity
Finance Valuation Control (FVC) sits within Commercial Banking Finance and is the centre of excellence for valuation oversight and independent price verification across Lloyds Banking Group. You will join our Specialist Valuation team which works closely with teams covering Derivatives and Prudential Valuations, Insurance, Change and End User Developments. Together we support valuations for a wide range of banking book exposures including private equity, investment property, credit assets, facilities, securitisation and valuation adjustments.
As the business grows and new fair value models are introduced, this role strengthens valuation controls, enhances management information and contributes to improvements across our valuation approach.
Day to day, you will:
· Support the independent price verification of all pricing parameters used in valuation reporting for your assigned portfolios and models
· Prepare and present clear commentary on valuation results, trends and observations to Finance, Risk and Business teams
· Demonstrate a commercial view to fair value drivers to aid forecasting and scenario analysis
· Improve processes, streamline analysis and enhance management information
· Engage in business development where new assets require fair value measurement and assess the implications of different IFRS classifications
· Support maintenance of documentation for valuations and IPV activities, ensuring controls and methodologies are kept current
· Deliver papers and governance for meetings including the Valuation Committee
· Work alongside valuation specialists to support discussions on valuation risk
· Help manage internal and external audits related to valuation activities
