JOB TITLE: Senior Technical Application Specialist.
SALARY: £84,000pa to £102,700pa plus an extensive benefits package.
LOCATION(S): St Helier (Jersey) or Douglas (Isle of Man).
HOURS: Full time.
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

What you’ll be doing
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Application Specialist to join the Crown Dependencies Lab. You’ll be an experienced specialist acting as a critical link between Business, Operations and Engineering, with deep technical understanding of applications and tooling across the Lab. You’ll lead complex analysis and solution design, champion the use of third party and low code tooling, mentor others, and help shape best practice and automation across the Lab.
What you’ll do…
Act as the senior technical SME and trusted specialist for applications across the Crown Dependencies Lab.
Analyse complex business and customer problems and design fit‑for‑purpose technical solutions across applications and tooling.
Lead technical analysis, impact assessments and root cause investigations for incidents and change.
Champion the use of enterprise tooling, low‑code platforms and automation to improve customer, colleague and delivery outcomes.
Evaluate, recommend and lead proofs of concept for new technologies, tools and methodologies.
Oversee and support the implementation of complex technical solutions, providing expert guidance where required.
Ensure specialist solutions align with Group’s technology direction through close engagement with other labs and Group teams.
Contribute to the development of technical strategy, standards and best practice for the Lab.
Mentor and coach colleagues, building technical capability and maturity within the Lab.
Foster innovation and influence future ways of working through thought leadership and technical insight.

What you’ll need…
Strong technical expertise across core banking and digital platforms, including Temenos Transact, Internet Banking (.NET), iOS and Android mobile apps, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform and RPA tooling.
Experience acting as an Application SME, with a deep understanding of system architecture, integrations, data flows, dependencies and limitations.
Experience designing and supporting event‑driven data solutions, including configuring Kafka topics and working with producers and consumers to synchronise data between systems.
Proven ability to translate business requirements into clear technical designs, artefacts and specifications.
Experience as the go‑to specialist for third‑party SaaS and low‑code tools (e.g. Dynatrace, Power Platform, RPA), driving adoption and automation.
Strong problem‑solving skills, able to evaluate options and recommend secure, scalable solutions.
It would be great if you also had…
Experience in modernising or replacing legacy or end‑of‑life technologies with supported enterprise solutions.
Exposure to Java or Python in the context of event streaming or API‑led integration solutions.
Familiarity with data visualisation, dashboards or AI‑enabled tooling to support insight and continuous improvement.
