Job description

JOB TITLE: Associate Director - Business Development, Mid-Markets
HOURS: Full time

SALARY: Competitive package available
LOCATION: Bristol, Southampton, Watford or Essex
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites or meeting clients

Are you ready to take your career to new heights? If so, we have an outstanding opportunity for a Business Development Associate Director to join our Asset Finance team dealing with prospects in Mid-Markets (£25m - £500m turnover).

This is a newly created role due to growth and a phenomenal opportunity to join our team and help play a key part of the cashflow solution for many trading businesses. Asset Finance is a growth product both within LBG and the UK generally, making this an exciting and important area to develop your career!

This role requires a strong profile in the marketplace to identify and deliver high quality new business opportunities, as well as a collaborative working style to deliver a range of Asset Finance products for new clients. You'll be an experienced dealmaker who can develop, manage and drive business performance in order to successfully compete in the Asset Finance sector.

What you'll be doing:

  • Establishing new relationships for the Asset Finance business.
  • Identifying, targeting and prioritising new prospects using our business research and prospecting tools.
  • Making first contact with new clients, utilising the Lloyds brand, to arrange meetings, explaining the value Lloyds can bring to clients.
  • Building relationships with the clients to generate trust and develop clients’ interest in working with Lloyds.
  • Work with the client and existing relationship teams to agree credit lines with the new clients.
  • Provide full and comprehensive handover to your relationship colleagues remaining available for ongoing support if required.

What we’re looking for:

  • A proven track record in business development using mostly direct means of establishing contact with clients.
  • A proven track record in Asset Finance, able to demonstrate and utilise expert product knowledge to maximise delivery across all channels.
  • Experience working with mid or large sized corporate clients within the financial services industry with accountability for the structuring of financial solutions and negotiation of all deals.
  • A proficiency in the credit and underwriting process and a fluency in all manner of financial documents- able to analyse, draw insights and make financial services recommendations.
  • You'll need to demonstrate how you're wired into local networks with extensive connections in the professional space and able to use these for business development opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the coverage colleagues and key business introducers (external/internal stakeholders) to ensure effective delivery.
