About this opportunity

This is a key role within our API & Digital Services Platform, where you’ll guide and uplift a talented group of engineers. You’ll work closely with supportive, cross‑functional partners to bring ideas to life and turn requirements into meaningful outcomes for the Bank and our customers.

You’ll help shape the future of our next‑generation API Gateway, API Marketplace, and API Compliance capabilities—creating richer, more seamless connections with our customers. We’re looking for engineers who want to make a real impact and be part of this exciting transformation.

Our Software Engineering Team Leaders play a vital role in ensuring our services remain reliable, secure, and resilient. They’re always looking for ways to simplify, strengthen, and improve how we build.

This work is varied, modern, and creative, with a spotlight on our flagship React and cloud‑based API Marketplace.

What you’ll do

  • Lead a feature team delivering enhancements to our flagship products.

  • Apply engineering best practice to design and deliver high‑quality, forward‑thinking software.

  • Build solutions that align with and support our wider technical strategy.

  • Collaborate through Agile ways of working, helping your team move quickly and learn rapidly through iteration.

  • Confidence building and implementing solutions end‑to‑end.

  • Proficiency in one or more languages such as React, CSS, HTML, TypeScript, or Node.js.

  • Strong understanding of API engineering, including REST, GraphQL, and microservices.

  • Experience with any API Management Platform (e.g., ApigeeX or API Connect) is a plus.

  • Good awareness of cybersecurity and secure development practices.

  • Experience with cloud technologies, ideally GCP, Azure, or AWS.

  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.

  • Engineering leadership experience.

  • Experience influencing or managing collaborators.
