JOB TITLE:  Solution Architect (CDS)

SALARY: £72,702 – £80,780

LOCATION(S):  Bristol

HOURS: Full-time – 35 hours per week

About this opportunity

As a Solution Architect in the Customer Data Services Platform you'll work to simplify and modernise reference data. This includes product and organisational data across the Group. This role presents a unique opportunity to shape and transform our reference and product data architecture by using modern technologies and architectural protocols. 

You'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and leading system frameworks and technical solutions that underpin critical business capabilities. The position requires close collaboration with cloud partners and internal engineering, product, and architecture teams to evaluate emerging technologies and support industry‑specific use cases. 

Strong expertise in defining and delivering scalable, high‑performance architectures that meet the evolving demands of modern digital platforms is essential. What you’ll be doing

  • Design and build robust, scalable solutions demonstrating diverse technologies

  • Evaluate technology stacks, including operations, administration, automation, and PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS

  • Develop estimates and strategies for proposals and statements of work (SOWs)

  • Build scalable and reliable software systems using modern software stacks and DevOps practices

  • Work with systems handling reference and product data, including SaaS and in-house solutions

What we’re looking for?

  • Proven understanding of cloud computing concepts and GCP services

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work closely in a team environment

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Expertise in reference data and product data management along with experience of product cataloguing and reference management systems

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and 4 years of hands on experience in application architecture

  • Google Professional Cloud Architect Certification and/or Google Professional Data Engineer Certification (Optional) with two years experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)/ Cloud environment

And any experience of these would be great

  • Experience with Informatica, IBM, and in-house cloud-based solutions and visualization technologies.

  • Knowledge of OWASP, ETL, event streaming and reference and products data technologies.

  • Experience with AI/ML, sophisticated analytics, and enterprise collaboration.

  • Familiarity with CDN, microservices, Apigee, and serverless architectures.

  • Experience with VMware, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio.
