About this opportunity

As a Senior Technical Application Specialist specialising in Test Environment Services, you’ll drive technical delivery by coordinating and integrating complex components across multiple Labs and third parties. You’ll work closely with engineering roles and environment specialists to ensure dependencies are managed and solutions are delivered at pace.

This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and understanding of the LBG estate will be key to delivering fit-for-purpose environments that support major programmes and transformation initiatives.

Why Lloyds Banking Group

We’re transforming the way we serve our 26 million customers. By investing in our people, data and tech, we’re building a more inclusive and innovative future. Join us and be part of a purpose-driven journey.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Capture and coordinate test environment requirements across Labs and platforms
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of environments for SIT, NFT, and UAT phases
  • Collaborate with architects, QA leads, engineers, and third parties
  • Track environment releases, upgrades, and incidents
  • Document connectivity and third-party interfaces
  • Control environment costs and drive efficiency
  • Identify and resolve technical blockers and RAID items
  • Support environment incident resolution and stability
  • Continuously improve environment processes and services

What you’ll need:

  • Strong technical background in environment provisioning and management
  • Understanding of Route-to-Live complexities and infrastructure delivery
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and transitioning applications
  • Familiarity with banking platforms (Branch, Telephony, Digital, Mortgages, Payments)
  • Knowledge of tooling and tech strategy across the LBG estate
  • Experience in Technical Recovery, Incident & Problem Management
  • Ability to lead multiple deliveries and manage stakeholders
  • Strong organisational awareness and communication skills
  • Experience with change methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall)

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Coaching and mentoring team members
  • Logical and creative problem-solving
  • Hands-on technical engagement and delivery
  • Multi-channel and multi-layered estate knowledge (front/middle/back end)
