This role focuses on operational support, implementing changes, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure exceptional outcomes for our customers.

You’ll join a dedicated team that provides essential firewall protection across the organisation’s networks. As a Shift Team Member, you’ll contribute to service stability and project delivery, gaining experience in network security and automation while working in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Sharing responsibility for protecting the 1 in 3 people who use our systems in the UK and our 10 million active online banking users. Your time will be split between support and project work as we continually improve our offering to become the best bank for customers.

You’ll work within a 24/7 shift pattern designed to provide robust support for critical services. You’ll use your technical skills and problem-solving ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues to deliver improvements and follow established processes, while contributing ideas for better ways of working.

Daily Activities

  • Monitoring and supporting the bank’s Checkpoint Firewall infrastructure
  • Assisting with the implementation of changes and upgrades to maintain service resilience
  • Responding to alerts and troubleshooting issues using network monitoring tools
  • Working with colleagues across IT to resolve service-related issues
  • Documenting actions and maintaining accurate records of changes and incidents

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • CCSA, CCSE or equivalent experience working with Checkpoint Firewalls
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and incident response processes (e.g., Dynatrace, SolarWinds)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a shift environment
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
  • A willingness to learn and develop technical skills in automation and infrastructure
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Terraform, Ansible) would be an advantage but not essential
