The team works on key projects, offers architectural guidance and consultancy, and provides engineering services to promote Public Cloud adoption. We collaborate with internal architecture and platform teams as well as leading cloud providers to speed up the delivery of business applications, thereby supporting our business in delivering effective solutions.

Day to Day responsibilities involve:

  • Work to enable our Business Platforms to deliver change at pace through the safe and efficient adoption of self-service Public Cloud products and services by providing technical guidance and design assurance.

  • Consulting with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify business requirements and opportunities and then shape solution designs, guiding them through the full design lifecycle.

  • Be part of the wider Bank Solution Architecture Community to shape ways of working and standard processes and develop skills and create key Public Cloud Architecture blueprints and patterns.

  • Leading technical discussions with collaborators, internal, external, and third party across various levels of technical expertise, including Senior Management and other Subject Matter Experts.

  • Support LBG's Cloud Platform team in enabling and shaping Public Cloud Product Roadmaps to simplify how our business labs consume them.

  • Provide upskilling and education of Architects to increase platform maturity driving self-service.

  • Facilitating a higher cadence in successful design delivery by collaborating with Solution Architects within our business to ensure their solution designs align with the bank's architectural, security, and engineering standards and best practices.

What you’ll need:

  • Strong experience of the adoption and/or migration of business applications to public cloud at enterprise scale with an understanding of Modern Application and Infrastructure Architectures and Cloud Native engineering principles.

  • In-depth experience in designing and integrating IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions across Azure and Google Cloud Platform to guide others.

  • Significant experience working as a Cloud Solution Architect, with hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience with container environments and container orchestration tools. E.g., Docker, Kubernetes (GKE, AKS, OpenShift).

  • A good understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, VPNs, subnets, firewalls and cloud native security, and load balancers and resilience.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with DevOps practices, DevOps methodologies and DevOps tools.

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the concept of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate and manage infrastructure through code, ensuring consistency and efficiency. Leveraging tools like Terraform to streamline deployment processes and enhance scalability.

  • Proficient communication and Technology Leadership collaboration skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Understanding of the values and principles to excel in an agile working environment.

In addition, any experience of these would be useful:

  • Certified in a cloud platform such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform
