Job title: Operational Resilience Policy Manager

Location: Edinburgh or Bristol

Salary: £65,385 - £79,915

Hours: Full time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh or Bristol office.

About this opportunity:

We have a phenomenal opportunity to support the management of the Operational Resilience framework across the Insurance, Pensions and Investment (IP&I) Business Unit.

As Operational Resilience Policy Manager, you'll engage with colleagues across IP&I, to provide insight and advice to encourage awareness of the Policy and related standards. You'll drive the implementation and embedding of Group wide initiatives to improve overall Business Unit Resilience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Embed, maintain compliance and drive awareness of Group and Divisional Resilience Policy and relevant technical standards.
  • Design and implement the approach to Business Continuity management and disaster recovery workspace.
  • Proactively lead and support the resolution of incidents, learn from times of crisis to help safeguard our colleagues, customers and the Group.
  • Drive the ongoing management and improvement of the Chief Controls Office Operational Resilience risks & control library.
  • Prepare reports and papers for IP&I Committees and the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and PRA (Prudential Regulation Authority).
  • Chip in to the broader People, Strategy and Business Unit wide Culture initiatives.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience of leading policy requirements / risk & control library in a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of the wider Operational Resilience and Business Continuity landscape, including the latest regulatory and industry developments.
  • Proven experience of drafting Risk and Board Papers for governance committees.
  • Ideally, you will have a strong understanding of Life, Pensions and Investment products.
  • Great collaboration, both written and verbal, an eye for detail and the ability to tailor communication styles to suit varied audiences.
  • Proactive self-starter with ability to self-organise, plan, and prioritise activities and able to understand and interpret sophisticated issues quickly.
