Why Lloyds Banking Group?

Like the modern Britain we serve, we're evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the everchanging needs of our 26 million customers. We're embracing collaborative, agile ways of working, to help us deliver the best outcomes for our colleagues, customers and businesses. We're growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too!

About this opportunity

We’re heavily investing in our Everyday Banking products and teams to fulfil our purpose of making finance a force for good. That’s why we need someone special.  The Payments business in Everyday Banking has created a brand-new role and is seeking an experienced individual to enhance our commercial performance. You’ll help us gain deeper insights into customer behaviours and leverage our data warehouse to drive insight-based business decisions. Using this knowledge, we will reward customers and create value for both them and the bank.

While handling large data sets and building dashboards is crucial, it's about more than just the numbers. You need to pinpoint the key data points, create a compelling narrative, and confidently communicate your findings.  Our team is fast-paced and focused. We achieve success by empowering you to make quick decisions and collaborate across teams to solve problems efficiently, minimising bureaucracy. Equipped with better tools, we work more effectively.

Your accountabilites will include:

  • Designing and implementing advanced data insights solutions to solve complex problems for a variety of audiences.

  • Liaising with stakeholders to understand their needs, converting these into technical requirements, and then creating, developing and delivering solutions to provide them with actionable insight whilst collaborating with cross functional teams including data engineers, analysts and data scientists.

  • Implementing solutions following data visualization principles and best practices.

  • Telling stories with data and conveying technical concepts to stakeholders.

  • Seeking opportunities to work collaboratively across boundaries (e.g. with different teams, business areas, cultures, etc.).

  • Undertaking data analysis across multiple sources.

About you

We’ll be looking for these skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrable Financial Services experience specifically on current accounts and payments. i.e. debit card spend, bank transfer, etc

  • Deep understanding of customer payment behaviour and UK economic trends; adept at identifying performance drivers and solving business problems through explorative analysis.

  • Proficient in Excel, SQL, Python/R (preferred) for data wrangling, forecasting, regression, time series analysis, and test/control group evaluation.

  • Skilled in creating advanced reports and dashboards using Power BI, Excel, and Looker; experienced in KPI tracking, trend analysis, and effective data storytelling.

  • Strong understanding of data quality, security, metadata management, and version control practices.

  • Experienced in managing large-scale structured datasets (billions of records), data modelling, and ETL processes using tools like Teradata and GCP.

About working for us

Our focus is to ensure we are inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity, or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. And it is why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We are disability confident. So, if you would like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual performance-related bonus

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
