JOB TITLE: Head of Lending & Working Capital Servicing

SALARY: Starting from £114,000+ (dependent on experience)

LOCATIONS: Birmingham / Edinburgh

HOURS: Full Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. This role requires travel between our operational sites.

Within Client Operations we're dedicated to providing a streamlined end to end journey for clients, utilising new ways of working and technology along skilled colleagues to deliver best in class service.

Bringing together a range of teams aligned providing best in class servicing of a range of complex products – we're looking for someone to lead the teams to deliver on our ambitious plans aligned to Corporate & Institutional Banking’s significant growth strategy. The teams are involved in a range of strategic programmes to deliver significant improvement in journey efficiency, partnering with a range of platform teams.

We need someone capable of working with partners across the entire E2E journey and bringing the c.250 colleagues on the journey with you while continuing to make Client Operations an excellent place to develop. Driving activity across Trade and Lending – you'll be supervising the delivery of a substantial asset book, highlighting the importance of our ability to support clients and contribute to the success of the Commercial Bank.

Key Accountabilities

  • Optimising cost to serve through driving efficiency through the operation

  • Effective delivery and oversight of business performance against shared service agreements

  • Leading the business through significant strategic investment programmes and delivering business transformation through continuous improvement and driving the introduction of new technology to optimise E2E client journey

  • Partner effectively with coverage and product partners taking a role in shaping business strategy

  • Operational cost and risk management

In this role you'll contribute to the delivery of key client journeys:

  • Trade Servicing – Manage the day-to-day servicing of Traditional Trade Products and secondary balance sheet activities, including invoice discounting and receivables purchase products. This support spans Business and Commercial Banking, Corporate & Institutional Banking, and LBCM clients.

  • Lending – Lead documentation and onboarding processes to facilitate the setup of new lending products and ongoing facility oversight. This includes drawdowns and lifecycle maintenance for both syndicated and bilateral lending, supporting Mid-Corporate, Corporate & Institutional Banking, and LBCM clients.

What You’ll Need

Your application will demonstrate strong alignment with:

  • Complex Process Understanding: Capability to oversight a range of complex processes with high level governance/industry requirements

  • Change Partnership: Proven partnership with platforms to deliver strategic programmes in an agile delivery environment

  • Strategic Solution Development: Able to structure strategic programme requirements to secure investment to deliver significant journey transformation

  • Customer Experience: Ensuring continued high performance and pro-actively finding opportunities to reduce E2E experience times

  • Colleague: Leading a high performing team through high quality coaching and scale leadership capability to inspire and develop

  • Risk Management: Experience of RCSA frameworks and pro-active risk management and leading creation of plans to manage operational risk
