About this opportunity 

Exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our Commercial Lending Platform and be accountable for delivery or Quality Engineering across lab/PT as part of a multi-skilled feature team, collaborating to ensure quality & customer requirements are met when developing products. 

This role sits within our Working Capital Asset & Invoice Finance Lab, within the Commercial Lending Platform, where we're building solutions with modern, innovative technology. We work together on key initiatives to deliver value at pace by designing services that colleagues and customers find useful, intuitive, and engaging to use.

What you’ll do 

  • Software Testing – Drives advanced software testing techniques using experience to apply test approaches such as risk based testing where appropriate and communicate the approach used clearly so that stakeholders understand any risk associated with the test approach used 
  • Software Development using automation framework – Develop robust automation suites in Java/Typescript using the defined LBG automation framework, able to solve complex framework issues, and extend existing frameworks when required 
  • DevOps – Able to incorporate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.  Inspect and compare branches containing automation code , rolling back o previous branch id issue seen 
  • Automation Test Strategy – Applies the Automation Test Strategy to the applications under test in the feature team they are working on 
  • Perform exploratory testing and mentor other colleagues in the best practise to ensure product is fit for purpose 
  • Design & execute different types of complex Non-Functional testing as part of  product development based on Non-Functional Requirements  
  • Create, execute and report test cases via and API, using the defined LBG test management system 
  • Mentor QE’s on test environment provisioning and test data creation / useage 
  • Create or accurately request complex test data, taking into account referential integrity and metadata 

What you’ll need

  • Accomplished Test Automation Engineer helping to develop a robust and future-facing Automation & Frameworks.
  • Experience in creating UI and API automated tests using automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium or equivalent.
  • Be highly competent in one of the following languages: Java, Javascript, or equivalent.
  • CI/CD experience e.g. GIT Hub, Jenkins, Harness.
  • Agile experience and experience of working with Jira and Confluence.
  • Clear Communication - both written and verbal, familiar with communicating with business partners.

It would be great if you also had

  • Performance Testing using tools such as Load Runner, JMeter or equivalent.
  • Working within container technology such as Docker and Kubernetes within a cloud environment such as OCP, AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Security testing using tools such as Burp suite, Zap or equivalent.
