Job description

The Programme Governance Manager will oversee the governance framework and ensure the successful delivery of the Strategic Workforce Planning Programme. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with Group policies and standards.

The Strategic Workforce Planning team work closely with Group Finance, Skill Based Org, Group Location Strategy and all Business Units to design and operationalise workforce planning roadmaps to build a sustainable, effective workforce for the short, medium, and long term.

The Programme Governance Manager will support the Senior Strategic Workforce Planning Managers and Head of Programme to establish and embed governance and delivery processes supported by the monitoring and management of various MI. A great opportunity to lead on driving new ways of working for the next 12 months, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This role involves the ability to make effective decisions at pace with excellent communication and influence with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance Framework: Develop and maintain the governance framework for the programme, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Risk Management: Support, identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the programme. Implement risk management strategies and maintain RAID Log.
  • Operational Risk: Manage operational risk profile including effective controls, in line with RCSA policy and practice.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior leadership and stakeholders. Ensure transparency and accountability in all programme activities.
  • Resource Allocation: Oversight allocation of resources to ensure optimal programme performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the programme. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices.

What you'll need:

  • Experience within a Project Management Office environment
  • Experience in Agile and programme delivery methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Meeting facilitation and decisioning management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and new approaches
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project experience is essential
  • P3O qualification desirable but is not essential
  • Knowledge of strategic workforce planning desirable but not essential
