About this opportunity
We’re looking for someone with a highly motivated, proactive, and driven approach to achieving individual and collective goals, coupled with the ability to help cultivate an environment that encourages design maturity and continuous improvement.

You’ll have strong relationship building skills with the confidence to provide a healthy challenge where appropriate. You’ll also possess resilience when under pressure, and the ability to proactively identify new or potential risks and respond to emerging priorities.

Additionally, you’ll have strong communication skills; effective in communicating ideas, issues, and implications to senior, technical and non - technical audiences and will have experience in design thinking methods as well as Platform priorities and ways of working.

We’re looking for someone who can work collaboratively within a Design Delivery Practice team who can balance Platform methods and ways of working with the value of Design.  You’ll be an advocate of agile methodology and a confident facilitator to support alignment between Design and the Platform PCF.

You will be confident when presenting their work to stakeholders, and able to work in a complex landscape.  Understand the technical constraints of different platforms yet still be able to give guidance on creating the best possible end user experience.

This role would suit someone with a background in Design, with a collaborative working style, and with the drive to connect the aspirations of Experience Design (XD) with how the Group, and the Platform teams, operate.

About the Role

Sitting in Design Delivery Practice, this role will work closely with Design teams, Key Platform roles and XD Communities of Practices.

The purpose of the team is to mature the practice of design in a regulated, corporate context.  We also co-create and embed ways of ensuring experience quality.

You will be part of the Platform Alignment and Shared Method team who are here to demonstrate the value of, and advocate for, the business impact of Design.

Our core goal is to create consistent and high-quality experience for our customers and colleagues.

It will be your role to:

  • Co-create, iterate and deploy practical, impactful ways of aligning design capabilities with the need of platform teams.

  • Identify opportunities to embed the Design Definition of Done and design method into Platform methods, ways of working and artefacts.

  • Facilitate the migration of design work from the BMX project to Platform Jira projects

  • Conduct analysis on whether Group wide Key Results are customer centric

What you'll need

  • Design experience either as an Interaction Designer, UX Designer (or possibly from a Visual or Service Design background)

  • Strong ability to identify and make business connections between where experience quality standards are relevant and where they can bring significant value to customers, colleagues and the group

  • Understanding of Design Thinking and Product Thinking methodologies

  • Understanding of the Platform Change Framework

  • Good working knowledge of JIRA

You may also have knowledge and experience of:

  • Strong inter-personal skills with experience of stakeholder management at all levels of the organisation

  • A collaborative mindset to work closely and quickly with a multi-disciplinary team

  • Strong advocacy of customer inclusivity and accessibility
