JOB TITLE: Senior Data & Analytics Strategy Manager

SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £83,411 - £98,130

LOCATION: Bristol

HOURS: 35 hours, full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity

Personalised Experiences and Communications (PEC) platform sits within the Consumer Relationships BU & plays a substantial role in supporting the achievement of the Group Personalisation strategy to be more relevant for customers.

Data is at the heart of Personalisation with the Customer Intelligence lab playing a leading role in shaping the data and data capabilities needed for our business teams to be able to deliver personalisation at scale.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our lab working for the lab product owner to support the continuous evolution and development of our platform data strategy, and team product and data product strategies and help us ensure our transformation is successful. You’ll collaborate with our product managers and product owners to align team and other lab priorities to our strategy, and roadmap our multi-year journey. You’ll work with the lab PO to bring others on the journey by helping to “tell the story” in a compelling way and encourage future thinking and innovation.

What will I be doing?

  • Drive the lab PO to evolve the data platform strategy and multi-year roadmaps, aligning to platform and lab priorities and transformation.

  • Enable the Lab owners, product managers & product owners to develop their team product strategies bringing them all into alignment

  • Telling the story about our transformation and strategy, participating in lab and platform show and tells, and team days.

  • Be ready to lead on ad-hoc queries, projects and presentations when requested by the leadership team.

  • Be curious about the latest tooling and trends in data analytics, machine learning and GenAI to inform strategy, and to drive knowledge and experimentation into the teams

  • Embrace and promote a culture of data-driven decision making in the lab.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of our technology transformation and be clued up on Google Cloud Platform.

What you’ll need

  • Data Strategy – Proven ability to formulate strategies aligned to business and technical drivers and priorities. Proven ability to articulate and communicate strategy to customers/partners, actively listening to feedback, and fostering open dialogue.

  • Data Storytelling – Proven ability to communicate complex data concepts to all types and levels of colleagues in compelling and relatable manner. This includes visual storytelling and plain English communication, tailored to meet the needs and interest of the audience. Ability to think creatively and challenge direction.

  • Data Literacy – Knowledge of data management, data analytics, machine learning, and emerging technologies. Familiarity with platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Ability to communicate with data confidently and effectively, exploring the implication of data and providing insights on strategic delivery.
