JOB TITLE: Product Owner - Data

LOCATION: Chester, Halifax, Leeds or Manchester

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in one of our office hubs mentioned above

About Us:

As the UK's largest retail and commercial bank, Lloyds Banking Group has a footprint that touches nearly every household in the UK. That gives us a big responsibility to support the UK economy, and we have a clear strategy to put customers first - and achieve our vision of becoming the best bank for customers. We're an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity within our organisation.

Why not join our forward-thinking Consumer Lending team as we embark on a ground-breaking journey towards a data-driven future. We are seeking a hardworking Data Design Engineer to support our data transformation initiatives and contribute to the development of a modern data platform powered by consumer data products.

What Makes This Opportunity Unique

As a Product Owner within our Consumer Lending team, you'll be at the forefront of transforming the way we serve our customers. This is an outstanding opportunity to bring to bear your technical expertise and leadership skills to drive world-class solutions in a fast-paced, ambitious environment. You will have a direct impact on our success, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the product backlog for data-driven initiatives within Consumer Lending, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering and design within cross-functional teams to define, prioritise, and achieve product goals.

  • Translate business goals and requirements into clear, prioritised user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Lead sprint planning and backlog refinement sessions, ensuring delivery remains on track against timelines.

  • Act as the voice of the customer and business, balancing technical feasibility with commercial value.

  • Supervise and report on delivery progress, risks, and dependencies across multiple squads.

  • Coordinate the successful implementation of product features and improvements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, ideally working within a role in a data-rich environment or similar.

  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, Hadoop, Spark), and data governance.

  • Proven ability to drive delivery in agile environments, handling contending priorities and tight deadlines.

  • Excellent collaborator leadership skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Experience working with cross-functional squads, including data designers, engineers, and customer journey managers.

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Consumer Lending products and regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and data visualisation platforms.
