JOB TITLE: Data Design Engineer - Consumer Lending

LOCATION: Chester, Halifax, Leeds or Manchester

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in one of our office hubs mentioned above

You'll play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) collaborating with multi-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data products into our a new data architecture, driving innovation and optimising data utilisation.

We are seeking a hardworking Data Design Engineer to support our data transformation initiatives and contribute to the development of a modern data platform powered by consumer data products.

We're looking for a track record of the required experience shown on a real production platform is a must, as are a “can-do” attitude, capability of bootstrapping projects, and ability to effectively work with multi-disciplinary, internal and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable data solutions on GCP, ensuring alignment with our data transformation goals

  • Collaborate with data producers and consumers to integrate consumer data products into the data mesh.

  • Advocate for best practices in data design and GCP usage across the organisation.

  • Tackle and resolve complex data design challenges.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data architecture and processes.

  • Align data solutions with group data governance and control frameworks to support overall risk reduction.

Key skills:

  • Proven experience in data design and engineering, preferably on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Strong understanding of data mesh architecture and consumer data products.

  • Strong understanding of Dimensional and Normalised data modeling

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • A passion for data-driven decision-making and innovation.
